Manhattan Sideways Launches!

Manhattan Sideways explores the treasures of the side streets and documents each and every establishment. From boutiques and bars, to food and furnishings, to galleries and gardens, we pound the pavement with creator, Betsy Polivy, capturing incredible photographs and priceless interviews artfully documenting the true character of Manhattan. Start exploring at ManhattanSideways.com

Shooting with VIP

One of the reasons we love working with VIP Art Fair is that they take us on amazing adventures around the country where we learn about unique artistic practices and meet fascinating characters. Most recently, we travled to the small town, Milford, NJ, and spoke with people at The Better Image who preserve and restore historic photographs. We also went to Chambers Fine Art’s ArtFarm, a by-appointment-only gallery set within fifty acres of beautiful land in Salt Point, NY.

The Barnes Foundation

We recently worked with The Barnes Foundation to shoot the opening of their Philadelphia campus. The stunning building is the new home of Dr. and Mrs. Barnes’s beautiful and extensive art and horticulture collection. We documented the ribbon cutting ceremony and their extravagant evening gala. We’re excited to return to Philly this weekend to capture more events surrounding the opening.

Polivision.tv Launches!

We are proud to present our first major in-house project, Polivision.tv. We’ve worked hard to find the world’s best video websites and designed a virtual remote control that allows you to easily navigate among them. The Internet is steadily replacing television, so we are trying to stay a step ahead by bringing the convenience and quality of TV to your computer while maintaining the interactive, customizable nature of the Internet. The Polivision.tv Remote helps you get to high quality video content quickly with the same simplicity as television. Rather than bringing all of the videos into one place, Polivision.tv takes you to the videos’ natural habitats so that you can enjoy them in unique environments designed specifically to enhance the videos you are watching. You can use the channel up/down buttons to jump from news channels like CNN and BBC, to comedy channels like Adult Swim and Colbert Report, to fashion channels like Vogue and Hypebeast, to innovative interactive experiences like The Wilderness Downtown or The Johnny Cash Project. This is just the beginning. This platform has opened up a whole world of possibilities for experiencing video and the web in general. We will soon be releasing more features for Polivision.tv as well as other original projects. For now, please enjoy video without boundaries at Polivision.tv.

Polivision has a new look

After recently completing a re-brand we are finally ready to launch the new Polivision. So here it goes…

We wanted a brand that reflected the way we work. We are always collaborating on a wide variety of projects, and it was essential that our look and feel be as flexible and dynamic as we are. Pixels are the one constant in everything we do at Polivision, from video content to websites, so we chose to highlight the magic of pixels by zooming in on our work. An image is built up of a network of pixels, just as Polivision is built on a network of creative thinkers and doers. And there’s the concept. Collaborative and creative, we focus on the details to make sure we create the best end product possible.

With a separate logo (and micro-site too!) for Art, Music and Web projects, we have unified everything with our favorite color: orange.

Welcome to Polivision.

From Back in the Day: Collaboration At RISD

A few years ago, while still in school, we were approached by the advertising agency, Weiden + Kennedy, to shoot a viral ad for their client, Benihana Restaurants. We were given a crate of Tiki Mugs, small porcelain statues used to serve drinks, and told we could do anything with them…anything. So we gathered creative minds from all different departments – Industrial Design, Animation, Apparel, Graphic Design, to name a few, and sat everyone down in a room together. We decided that we had to make the tiki mugs fly, as in, to soar through the air. Check out the ad and then the ‘making of’ below to see how we did it.
